Blog: Signs of Art

I have been capturing my art experience and observations with Signs of Art —  a public journal open to comment and discussion.

I am attempting the daunting task of verbalizing the visual.

Trying to explain artwork in sensible words can be more overwhelming to me than facing a blank canvas!  But art is supposed to be approachable.  It’s about making connections, making a statement or having a dialogue.  So, I’m trying to dive into that dialogue, and capture my point of view.

Signs of Art captures my contemplations and musings related to inspiration, the process of creation and “artsy-fartsy” talk itself. Explaining the inspiration or meaning of my own work is the most challenging, but I’m taking a shot at that too— something I expect to be an ongoing learning process for me.

And since, after all, it’s about art, I include an image with each post, usually an original photo or shot of a work in progress, sometimes a visual link to something that’s gotten me thinking.

Check the blog periodically for updated postings (usually every week or two, but I sometimes publish in spurts) and feel free to join the discussion with reactions and thoughts.
